Mass shootings. Terrorism. Anarchy. Passenger jets downed. Rampant homicide. Cartel violence. Beheadings. Whole communities taken hostage. Suicide bombers. The world as it has never been seen before.

“And another horse came forth, a red one, and authority was given to its rider to withdraw peace from the earth, and that people would kill one another; and a great sword was given to him.” Revelation 6.4

Thus reads just one of the global predictions from the book of Revelation that describe the generation that will exist on earth at the moment when Jesus Christ comes. This and five other such predictions, although almost 2,000 years old now, are coming to fulfilment before our very eyes.

Revelation gives these prophecies as signs that worse things are yet to come. The time of tribulation and of God’s judgment is at the door.

But Revelation also teaches us how to avoid God’s judgment. It reminds us that Jesus promised first to come and rescue those whose heart is His.
