The Patmos Project 2025-2026 Season: “Well shot arrows”

Season Opener, Tuesday October 7, 8pm, live broadcast
The Scopes monkey trial, 100 years later. Did anybody “Inherit the Wind”?
The theory of evolution, and the return of Jesus.

The Scopes trial has been one of history’s most popularized court cases, inspiring Hollywood and television full length movies, live theatre, Broadway, song writing, etc. The “true” story of an early 20th century clash between “faith” and “science.”

Yes, the prosecution managed to defend the new law which prohibited teaching the theory of evolution in a public school; the defendant was found guilty. However, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which instigated the case, ultimately achieved its goal of undermining the Christian belief in creation. The feature movies to follow aided that effort by characterizing the Christians of the day as fanatical, ignorant, harsh, and unteachable.

The supporters of the theory of evolution, on the other hand, were portrayed sensible, intelligent, kind, and winsome. The defence lawyer even suggested that the idea of theistic evolution would make the Biblical creation story compatible with the theory of evolution.

So, where does that leave us today? Now 100 years later, has the Bible given in and conceded that the evolutionists are right? Should Christians just show themselves sensible and whole heartedly embrace this relatively recent theory of origins? Does it really matter if God’s creation was effected by million year processes rather than done in a single week?

And where does this leave Christians with respect to the rest of the Bible? Is it all subject to man’s superior intelligence? Is every part to yield to a figurative interpretation so as to affirm nothing insulting to man’s new found brilliance?

As for the return of Jesus, is that too just the wishful thinking of a surviving remnant of the Christian faith? “His return. Our lifetime.” Really?!?

Join us, if you dare, on October 7, 8pm (or any time after) and rediscover the soundness of the Bible and of Biblical faith.

“The theory of evolution, and the return of Jesus.” Are these two things connected?

Yes. Far more than you ever imagined.

You can connect to the October 7th event by clicking here. Question and answer will be included as time permits.

Seven weeks for Mexico, April 2025

Jim did not make it to Mexico in November of 2024, but he was able to spend a week in Campeche in January, 2025. He then departed once again on March 8, 2025, and crossed into Mexico at Piedras Negras. This trip was made in “The Ark,” a 1985 Ford Camper that Jim renovated and renewed, replacing the gas generator and propane utilities into solar panel electric (among many other improvements.) The journey was much more difficult than expected. The camper which behaved perfectedly in Canada and the US was ill-prepared for the rigors of Mexico: mountains, desert, 40 degree temperatures, rugged roads, constant interaction with tractor trailers, etc. Thankfully God brought him through, along with Keren and her parents, 2 dogs and 2 cats. A seven week trip only afforded 2 weeks in Campeche, Mexico, the other 5 weeks were spent on the road. Still exploring what will be the best way to make ministry trips and tours.

Application for Charitable Status, Feb. 2025

Another step forward for the Patmos Project, currently progressing, is an application for charitable status. Through this means Canadians who wish to support this ministry will be able to make donations and receive tax receipts. Target date for this is September, 2025.

Also in the Fall, at some point, we still plan to restart live broadcasts with the theme, “News and the prophecies of Revelation.”

Impact of Covid, 2019-2024

The COVID pandemic of 2019 created barriers against Patmos Project events, as well as forced Jim to move back to Toronto. He later spent the winter of 2021 / 2022 in Mexico, but while there determined that Xalapa was no longer the most strategic Mexico location for him. He returned to Canada for what became a time of transition, and he relocated from Pickering to Fergus, ON.

We are now on track to begin Patmos Project ministries again. A renewed live broadcast ministry will soon begin, “News and the prophecies of Revelation.” Live events are also in the works, and they will be listed here when details are available.

Jim plans to return to Mexico by November, 2024, and this time will reside in Campeche, God willing.

January 2019: Group study begins in Xalapa

This Tuesday evening weekly study will be held at the ministry centre, ¡LISTOS!, in the downtown area of Xalapa. Only a small room is available so space is limited to 10 people. However, if the group grows beyond 10, a second group will be created on a different evening. The group will be held in Spanish.

As of March 1, 2018, Jim is back to Mexico, living in Xalapa, Veracruz, and taking courses in Intensive Spanish at the University of Veracruz. The next step for The Patmos Project is to produce the Patmos Project Prophecy Series in Spanish; but for this to happen, Jim needs to become much more fluent in Spanish. He plans to remain in Mexico at least as long as it takes to master the language.
